Update 3rd July 2020
Most driving instructors are re-starting lessons from Monday 6th July. The cars will be sterilised thoroughly before and after each driving lesson. Instructors will follow the government advice regarding PPE requirements. Instructor and pupil will both declare that they are symptom-free before lessons. Windows will be open where possible. We are extremely busy at the moment and prioritising existing pupils, especially those with tests already booked. We unfortunately cannot take any more pupils on our waiting lists because they are too long and get difficult to manage. Thank you for your patience and understanding at this difficult and very busy time.
We are re-opening and re-starting lessons on Monday 6th July. We are waiting for official advice from the government about the precautions we need to take in the car. Please note, we are expecting to be very busy due to so many people wanting to restart and begin their driving lessons.
We are hoping for lessons to resume shortly, please contact us now to book your driving lessons in for as soon as we are given the go-ahead!
Understandably most pupils now do not want lessons and most instructors do not wish to continue teaching. The official advice is to socially distance at 2 meters which is obviously not achievable whilst sat in a car. The DVSA has now cancelled all driving tests for 3 months.
If you would like to leave your details now and be contacted to book driving lessons as soon as instructors are able to teach again, please contact us now and leave your name, number and postcode.
Jennifer’s Driving School has asked all instructors to follow the official government advice on the DVSA website regarding driving lessons. The current advice for driving instructors can be found here:
The advice is changing daily but currently the advice to driving instructors is:
Working throughout the outbreak on a reduced diary with healthy pupils and keeping healthy yourself is by far the best way to get through this difficult time.
We will update you with any changes as they happen. Please let your driving instructor know if you would like to cancel driving lessons or if you have had any symptoms or diagnosis of coronavirus. Please follow the health guidelines before, during and after your driving lesson. If your instructor is self-isolating or chooses not to teach for the time-being they will inform you as soon as possible. If possible and if the government guidelines are still allowing it we will try our best to re-allocate you to a different instructor.
Please see the official government website advice regarding driving tests here:
Your co-operation and understanding during this difficult time is appreciated. We are all doing all we can to protect our community and the vulnerable.
